Christina started practicing yoga in 1998. In 2004, she was certified to teach Hatha Yoga & Children's Yoga, and in 2009, Prenatal Yoga, through Integral Yoga New York. Since then, she has had the pleasure of teaching children and adults yoga in New York, California, Sweden, Mexico, Thailand, and Goa, India. She spent seven years studying and practicing ashtanga yoga in Mysore, India. During her time in Mysore, she taught yoga at the girls home of Odanadi Seva Trust, a social organization working for the rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of trafficked women and children, ages 5-18.
For the past ten years she has been teaching prenatal and post natal yoga and completed her advanced prenatal training with Beth Donnely Caban & Lara Kohn Thompson. In 2012, she began working for the Sonima Foundation as an instructor, trainer, and curriculum writer to bring yoga to schools nationwide. The K-5 Pure Edge Power Curriculum she helped write is currently being studied by the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University School of Medicine.
She is currently teaching Yoga & Mindfulness at Brooklyn Arbor to the students in PreK - 5th grade, parents, and teachers. She has shared this same program with her son's class at PS132 and is a member of PS132's Wellness Council. She is completing her Masters in Social Work at Fordham University with a clinical concentration in Children and Families. In her free time, she loves making art with her eight-year old son, Talan.
